    A two-vehicle head-on collision. Both drivers had to be extricated from the vehicles. One victim was taken to Upstate University Hospital with two fractured legs, several fractured ribs, a fractured forearm and a fractured neck and was listed in critical condition. The other injured party was taken to Upstate for a fractured foot and was listed in serious condition, later upgraded to fair.

    Van Buren, N.Y. — State Police have identified the two women involved in a two-vehicle crash at about 11:30 a.m. today on Route 31 in the town of Van Buren.

    16 hurt in NYC funeral procession accident — March 11, 2012 14:14 GMT

    NEW YORK (AP) — Sixteen people were hurt when a limousine in a funeral procession hit the wall of a Queens bodega after the driver swerved to avoid another car.

    The procession was on Guy R. Brewer Boulevard around 11:30 a.m. Saturday. Witnesses told the New York Post (http://nyp.st/xhQve1) that a minivan that wasn’t part of the group clipped the limo, causing the driver to swerve.

    The limo hit the wall of the market, injuring the owner, who was treated at the scene. Fifteen other people were also injured, with some taken to nearby hospitals.

    The funeral procession had been heading to Long Island to bury a 94-year-old woman.

    TYRE, N.Y. — State police say a man has been killed in a two-vehicle crash in the eastbound lanes of the Thruway in central New York.

    The man’s car was struck by a tractor-trailer near Interstate 90′s Exit 41, on the Junius-Tyre town line in northern Seneca County, 35 miles west of Syracuse.

    The driver died at the scene.

    Last Saturday, a Koenigsegg CCX was wrecked on Long Island, New York. The hypercar appears to have left the road after contact towards the front of its door panel. The CCX supposedly belongs to a Long Island-based car collector known for his love of Koenigseggs. No injuries reported.

    Other than the details we’ve assumed from the photo, no other information has been made public about the circumstances of the accident. All we know is that the accident appears to have happened at the Berry Hill Road and Rodeo Drive intersection near Syosset on Saturday.

    The Koenigsegg CCX is powered by an 4.7 liter twin-supercharged V8 which produces 806 bhp (601 kW) and 919Nm of torque. The CCX can accelerate from 0–100km/h in 3.2 seconds and from 0–200km/h in 9.8 seconds. According to Koenigsegg it has a top speed of approximately 400km/h (250mph).

    An allegedly boozed-up driver was arrested after he slammed into two cars in Queens yesterday, killing a 21-year-old man, cops said.
    Curtis Dean, 25, was cruising south in an Infiniti on 201st Street in St. Albans when he smashed into a Ford sedan just after 5 a.m., sending the Ford into a resident’s yard, cops said.
    Three victims were taken to Jamaica Hospital, including a passenger in the Ford who died there.
    Dean also allegedly plowed into a parked SUV. He was hit with a slew of charges, including manslaughter and DWI.
    “I think they were drunk and speeding,” said a witness. “They had to be going 70 or 80 miles an hour to get into an accident like that.”

    A 33-year-old West New York man died last Saturday in a gruesome construction accident on 84th Street in North Bergen, according to The Record.

    Cesar Ordon, 33, of Adams Street in West New York, was in the driver’s seat of the cab of a truck just before noon when a cable pulling a trash container onto the truck snapped and whipped through the back windshield, Police Lt. Randolph Homer told The Record.

    The severed cable struck him in the back of the head and caused massive trauma, Homer said, adding Ordon died at the scene at 1307 84th St.

    Mike Abbasi, supervisor for Champion Construction and Demolition Inc., told The Record the driver was working as a subcontractor hired to remove the trash container.
    Officials from the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration were notified and are investigating, Homer told The Record.

    RIGA, N.Y. — Authorities say two people are hospitalized after their car crashed, flipped over several times and landed on a boat parked in a driveway at a home outside Rochester.

    Monroe County sheriff’s deputies tell Rochester media outlets that a 26-year-old man from Chili (CHEYE’-lye) was driving the car around 12:40 a.m. Thursday when it crashed on a curve in the town of Riga, 10 miles southwest of Rochester.

    Deputies say the car struck a telephone pole guide-wire and rolled several times, landing on top of a boat and trailer in the driveway of the house.

    Officials say the driver suffered serious injuries and was being treated at a Rochester hospital. A 21-year-old woman riding in the car was being treated at the same hospital.

    The cause of the crash is being investigated.

    BRANDON, N.Y. — State police say one teenager is dead and two others are hospitalized after the vehicle they were in crashed off a northern New York road.

    Troopers say 16-year-old Tanya Menke of Brushton was driving a Volkswagen Bug in the Franklin County town of Brandon around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday when she attempted to make a turn, ran off the road and struck a tree.

    Police say the front-seat passenger, 16-year-old Brooke Lyon of Moira, was pronounced dead at the scene.

    Menke and the rear passenger, 17-year-old Alexis Collette of Brushton, were taken to Alice Hyde Hospital in Malone, then transferred to Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington, Vt.

    Menke was listed in serious condition and Collette in critical condition.

    The cause of the crash is under investigation.

    A pedestrian in Wyandanch was hit Wednesday by a Jeep when its driver momentarily lost vision after going through a puddle that splashed water over his windshield, Suffolk police said.
    The 51 year old man, of Deer Park, sustained severe head trauma and was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip, where he was placed on a ventilator, police said. He was in critical condition late last night, a hospital supervisor said.
    He was crossing Acorn Street on the northbound side about 6:13 p.m. when Jeep another driver, 29, of Dix Hills, made a right from Straight Path onto Acorn Street, police said.

    ELBA, N.Y. — The Genesee County Sheriff’s office is investigating an accident that occurred when a woman working at Rumble Farms in Elba became lodged inside a grain auger.

    The 24-years-old, was inside a grain cart cleaning corn out of it when she was pulled into the auger by her right leg and a portion of her right arm. A local hunter came across the farm equipment and noticed an issue with the power on the tractor. Upon further inspection, he discovered Beechler stuck inside the machine.

    Members of the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office, Elba Volunteer Fire Department, Oakfield Volunteer Fire Department, Town of Batavia Volunteer Fire Departments, Mercy EMS Ambulance, Mercy Flight, and Genesee County Emergency Management members all responded to the scene to assist with the disentanglement. It took almost an hour and a half to extricate Beechler from the auger, where she was immediately flown into Strong Memorial Hospital located in Rochester.

    Beechler was conscious while responders worked to free her, and as a result of the accident now has a severed right leg just above the knee.

    (Scroll down for video) 80-year-old Aron Dudkin, who was struck by a vehicle on Avenue T and East 7th Street in Flatbush, Brooklyn New York Tuesday morning. He was rushed by Flatbush Hatzolah Paramedics to Coney Island Hospital in traumatic arrest, but died a few hours later from his critical injuries.

    Misaskim volunteers were on the scene following the accident, and removed Mr. Dudkin to the NYC Medical Examiners Office after he died.

    Amagansett Man Ejected From Car In Eastport Accident

    An Amagansett man was injured early Tuesday morning after being ejected from his vehicle during a single-car accident on Sunrise Highway in Eastport. Police said man was not wearing a seat belt, and was ejected from his car and thrown about 15 feet before landing on the ground. They said his car crossed the center median and both westbound lanes of Sunrise Highway before overturning and coming to a rest against a tree. The accident occurred about a half mile east of Speonk Riverhead Road.

    MENDON, N.Y. (AP) — An 18-year-old driver was charged with manslaughter Wednesday after his car slammed into trees in western New York, killing a college freshman home for Thanksgiving and critically injuring another teenager.

    Garrett Ockun had been drinking before the accident at around 1 a.m. in the Rochester suburb of Mendon, Monroe County sheriff’s deputies said. He was arraigned on charges of vehicular manslaughter and driving while intoxicated.

    Pedestrian killed in Northway accident. COLONIE, N.Y. (AP) – State police say a woman has been hit by a vehicle and killed along the side of a heavily traveled Albany-area highway.

    Troopers say a 33-year-old man from Loudonville was driving his pickup truck onto the northbound lanes of Interstate 87 around 6 a.m. Wednesday when he struck the woman walking on the Exit 4 on-ramp in the town of Colonie.

    Police say the woman was wearing dark clothing and walking in the road. Troopers say it was still dark when she was hit.

    Troopers haven’t released her name. They say the driver isn’t expected to be charged.

    The accident snarled traffic in both directions on the Adirondack Northway during the morning commute.

    The investigation is continuing.
